Preparing For Your Family Holiday Or Weekend Break At La Croix

Preparing for your self-catering family holiday or weekend break at La Croix Spa, France.

A holiday is one of the single greatest annual planning events in a family calendar and we want to make sure you have a great time planning for it, as well (obviously) when you get here.

We have put down several thoughts about planning for your self catering family holiday at La Croix.

First of all is what to bring?

We supply all linen and can provide up to four travel cots for babies. So don't bring any bedding or lose valuable luggage space by bringing a cot.

We also supply towels and drying cloths. However we don't supply towels for the pool area or beach, so you WILL have to bring these.

The cottages are fuly equipped with all other kitchen and household utensils, so you realy don't need to bring these sorts of things with you. Even if there isn't (e.g.) a fondue in your cottage, we have one on site - so just ask!

As we are child-friendly holiday site, we also have loads of toys and board games in the games room and you can bring these back to the cottages while your child is here. We also have a safe, enclosed children's play area - which is shaded under a big oak tree the whole day. You can sit up at the games room and watch your kids playing in the play area or pool without turning your head! We also have badminton, croquet, boules and a cricket set, so don't pack these.

If you forget anything we most probably have something you can borrow.

You should also check out our choice holiday favourite links on this web page, as these represent the most common items people need to buy especially for their holidays. We've included them all here so you can see them in one place!

Clothing? For High Summer, you need to bring plenty of shorts and tee shirts and pool gear. Bring one change of long-sleeve shirts and long trousers for any visits to chateaux or dining out. Nightwear? Be aware if it is a hot July and August then the cottages remain hot throughout the night and so your warm winter woollies are probably best left at home. (We always have blankets should you ever need these - not in July or August). For the months outside high season, just bring an extra pair of long-sleeve and long trousered garments - but otherwise, no kidding, we wear T-shirts from late February through to the end of November here.

Bring DVDs and books, of course. You can also buy a selection directly from this page too.

A lot of people stock up with food before they leave the UK and of course you can do this too! Especially any favourites that you are not likely to find down here. Otherwise the super markets down here are fab and also have a small "English" section!

We look at local delicacies and dining out in a separate article.
