Travelling by air:
Limoges Airport Ryanair flies from London Stanstead, Liverpool, East Midlands and Brussels Charleroi. Ryanair will add Bristol, Bournemouth & Edinburgh to Limoges in April 2009. Flybe flies from Southampton. Take the N141 west towards Chabanais. At Chabanais, follow directions below. Journey time 45 minutes.
Angouleme-Cognac Airport (Ryanair flies from London Stanstead, Brit Air flies from Gatwick). Take the N141 east towards Chabanais. At Chabanais, follow directions below. Journey time 45 minutes.
Bordeaux Airport (many carriers fly from the UK). Then drive on
N10 to Angouleme.
Follow outer ring road (E606) until the turning for N141 East (beware,
don't take N141
West). Take this through La Rochefoucauld to Chabanais.
At Chabanais, follow directions below. Journey
time 2 hrs 15 minutes.
Travelling by Car:
Directions from CAEN. Take the N158 then N138 to Alencon, Le Mans and Tours. Take N10 to Poitiers and follow directions from Poitiers below.
Directions from St. Malo. Take the N137 through Rennes towards Nantes. From Nantes, take N149 to Poitiers and follow directions from Poitiers below.
From Poitiers. Follow signs for "Poitiers Sud" and "Angouleme" which takes you on the ring-road around the West of Poitiers. Follow signs for "St. Benoit" and then "St. Benoit bourg". The road will take you through a tunnel under the hills around Poitiers. Keep your eyes peeled after the tunnel for signs for "Confolens" and "Gencay". Turn right onto the D741 to Gencay and Confolens. From CONFOLENS take the D948 following signs for LACS DE HAUTE CHARENTE and Chabanais. At Chabanais, follow directions below.
From Chabanais go around the square and
take a left in the direction of ROCHECHOUART D29. Continue over railway
and up hill. Take the second turning on right to PRESSIGNAC D170/160.
At PRESSIGNAC you will be facing the village square with the phone box
in front of you, the road veers round to the right. Keep on that road
and go round a corner and past a water tower. Look for a signpost marked
LA CROIX on the right hand side. Take that road and continue until you
see a red fire hydrant (the second one on this road - if you're counting!) on the right
hand side of the road outside a farmhouse. Turn right at the farmhouse
and continue between two lakes, follow the tarmac road round to the left.
We are the last house and there is a car
park just past the house.
